By Jerry Patterson

For theatre companies to stay in business, the actors in it should be able to induce the audience through their powerful acting. The frontage of the stage must also have inducing effects to the audience through its persuasive designs as if the audience is being teleported in a different time and place. However, the variables that are mentioned above are not the sole variables in the making of a successful theatre company. The applications of Theater Makeup are yet another variable. This is because it transforms the actor to the character he or she is to play sometimes even making the person look beyond recognizable.

Through makeup, the transformation of an actor into a younger person or an older person is attained. Switching genders is also possible with makeup, and even looking like from a different planet. The makeup does not just convince the attendees, but also convince the actor that the actor truly is the fictional or real character one is playing.

Stage makeup can be used for many purposes. For one, they can hide facial imperfections of the actor for them to look fresh on stage. Another is to provide a deeper impact to the audience by intensifying the dramatic effect of the production to the audience.

Standing ovations can also result from choosing the right show or production you have. The director and writers would have to spend long hours on making the production a successful one. Therefore, they would have to choose the one that they are passionate to tell about or the story that they love to impart to people.

The decorating staff should have attention to detail and must design the stage according to when the story is set in. Everything from the props, sounds, lights and the wardrobe of the actors must be carefully chosen. It would be wise will work with staff from day one which is vital in enabling the play to persuade the audience that they are being taken away from the present and are now in the past or future.

Directors should also set up a calendar of activities. Delays can never be prevented, and these delays results in having bad feedback from critics and the public. Therefore, directors are to hand out copies of the calendar of activities to every person.

The director must also stick to the schedule and must emphasize on the staff punctuality. Rehearsals should start on the scheduled time and end at the schedule time. One must make sure that every actor is focused and fully participating on the play even when they are not part of the scene.

Theatre companies must also be finicky in the person whom they want to employ. There might be a need of putting up many auditions just to find the perfect actors. Yet, perfect actors should not be the only ones the director should look out for, the director should also look out for the perfect production staff.

Theatre production is an art the touches the soul of the audience. The impacts of movies and television series are nothing compared to the impact given by a successful production. This magnificent art will stay relevant for many years to come.
