Vitor Ribeiro, who was also called Shaolin, is retired mixed martial artist. Lightweight division is the field in which he commenced his career. He professionally competed for; Shooto, DREAM, Cage Force, world fighting Alliance, K-1 HEROS and also cage range. Ribeiro won various titles including Shooto World Light Weight and Cage Rage Lightweight.
His great skills as a mixed martial artist, made him known in different parts of the world. In addition to that, his great skills made him prosperous in every event he participated. Shaolin was a man, who made people who competed against him shatter their dreams, not willingly but forcefully. Beating him was not a walk in the park. Ribeiro was a man of many skills in grappling. His aggressiveness while taking part in competitions was actually incomparable to any other participant in the same category. Shaolin was a nickname given to him by fellow competitors owing to his character while was a trainee in BJJ.
Shaolin was just 14 years old when he started his career. His urge to commence going for a gym was triggered when he was beaten by a fellow schoolmate. The beating during the fight made him very annoyed and he started going for gym immediately. His talents became vivid clear while he was attending the gym. While was seventeen years, he was competing in the adult category and won a world competition. He was declared second in nationals and in Pan Ams.
One of the factors that that revealed that this was actually a talent man, is his ability to fight with adults while was in teens. He won black belt immediately when he reached 18 years and this was a great achievement that broke a record. In the following year, he performed greatly in Brazilian Nationals thus proving his mentor right.
He continuously won world championships in lightweight division in years 1999, 2000 and also in the year 2001. These achievements dictated that Shaolin was actually man to watch. He commenced taking part in MMA in 2001, after winning many events in lightweight category. Within the new category, he did and performed excellently too. On this field, he developed untold wrestling skills, which made his competitors tremble on realizing that Shaolin would take part in a given event.
2013 is the year, which Shaolin retired from martial arts. Owing to the passion with these competitions he decided not to exit completely from sports. In the year 2015 he came back into the field but now not as a competitor, but as a referee. As a referee, his intelligent is greatly revealed in the manner he performs.
In this world of competition achievements do not come with ease. One needs to remain committed throughout the undertaking for betterment.
