Improvements In Autoimmune Disease And Nerve Conditions

By Donna Cox

When it comes to disease, there are often a number of options when it comes to treatment. One of the newest with regards to improvements in autoimmune disease is that of antibiotic therapy. While this is the case, not all agree this is the right approach. As such, each individual must decide whether or not undergoing this type of treatment is worth the health risks, time and cost associated with antibiotics on a long-term basis.

Whether reported from individuals going through treatment, doctors or medical students, there are many whom now favor this approach. At the same time, while antibiotic therapy works for some, this is not the case for others. Regardless, for those whom do respond, overcoming a debilitating disease can often provide a future without the need for ongoing, and often addictive, pain medication.

In addition, different individuals have responded to different types of antibiotics, often depending on the chronic condition from which one suffers. As such, to assure obtaining the right type of antibiotic therapy, it is essential that one go through a primary care provider or specialist to do so. Otherwise, the individual could spend a great deal of time and money and potentially cause damage to other areas of the body by taking the wrong dosage or medication.

Some conditions under the guise of autoimmune diseases include Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Lupus, MS and Rheumatoid Arthritis. In most cases, these have been proven as some of the most difficult ailments to treat. As a result, many of those suffering from these ailments are on addictive pain medication or alternatives such as medical marijuana and other holistic treatment plans.

Researchers in this area have now discovered that in the majority of cases, individuals contracted the illness through untreated viral and bacterial infections. As this is the case, while it may take a great deal longer than if treated for the infection, the same type of antibiotic treatment has proven to be effective in eliminating chronic illnesses brought about by an initial infection.

For, while the treatment may work for some, this is not the case for everyone. As such, there can often be a need to try a number of different types of antibiotics before an individual could see a positive reaction and recovery. In addition, as it is a slow process which can take up to, or over a year to know whether or not an individual can recover from one of these illnesses, it is important to maintain ongoing health reviews and visits.

Another reason it is important to maintain an ongoing wellness plan with a health care provider is that chronic conditions can tear down body issue, thus leaving the body vulnerable. In the process, individuals often become more susceptible to different forms of autoimmune diseases and other conditions. As such, ongoing monitoring can often prevent the development of new diseases or the relapse of a prior condition.

It has also been discovered that viral and bacterial infections have the potential to kill nerves. As this is the case, there is now research underway to determine whether or not these infections could be the root cause of Parkinson's and other nervous conditions. If this proves to be the case, information obtained could be beneficial in preventing a number of nerve related conditions in the future.
