People love Ireland whether they are natives or tourists. This is a country steeped in history. History buffs will be interested the ruins of an early Christian monastery and other ancient stones that may signify the mountain was a pilgrimage destination prior to the advent of Christianity on the island.

Golfers will love the intricate course at Portsalon. It is famous all over the world. Non-golfers can sunbathe on the beach, take a boating excursion or go fishing. Cottages of various sizes are available to rent. Most of them are conveniently located in the village proper and are a close walk to shops and restaurants.

There is even more to please the avid golfer at the Narin and Portnoo Golf Club. This world class course is known for its scenic beauty and beautiful bay side views. Cottages are available for those who plan to spend a few days in the region. Most are found in the village proper, which makes walking to local pubs and restaurants very convenient.

Tory Island is remote and magical and home to the last king of Scotland. It is located off the northern coast of the country and can be reached by ferry, which will not run when the sea is too rough. Visitors can hike the trails and look down from the cliff's edge before stopping at the famous wishing stone.
