Many people pay a visit to the famous Castel Sant Angelo, which is a fortress built by Emperor Hadrian. His primary purpose for this fortress was for it to serve as a relaxing place for him and his family. However, with the change of events with time the fort acted as a military base and later on became a prison. Having built on a raised place along river Tiber, any person visiting these ruins can see much of this city from above.

The Roman Forum was that special place where gatherings like debates, celebrations, and even funerals were held. It was once an empty grassland but became useful at around 7th century B. C. It is located between the Palatine and Capitoline hills. It ended up into ruins back around the 8th century and has since remained that way until now.

The Colosseum is one of Romes wonder of architecture. It served as the theater for sporting activities and festivals. Of the many sporting activities conducted was the game of gladiators. The building was so large that it could accommodate about 5000 spectators having about 80 doors to allow for the entrance of these many spectators. Today it lies in ruins.

The most stable building in Rome is the Pantheon built in around 126 A. D. It initially served as the temple for the Roman gods. Upon abandoning idolatry, this building has been serving as a Catholic church. It has a large dome on top with an opening that allows for the sun to shine on it. It remains stable after around 1800 years.
